Game of Thrones: You Wouldn't Believe What The Source Of Drogon's Voice Is

LondonGame of Thrones sound designer Paula Fairfield says the noises made by the dragon Drogon are actually recordings of mating tortoises.

The giant flying lizard is the 'child' of Daenerys Targaryen, the Mother of Dragons, played by Emilia Clarke.

The hit HBO fantasy show, which is based on the novels by George R.R. Martin, features three fire-breathing creatures owned by Daenerys, but it is only Drogon that gets its voice from the peculiar source.

Fairfield talked about the source of the sound during WNYC radio show Radiolab on Tuesday, reports dailymail.co.uk.

"The groan of the male actually became, with some work and adjustments and stuff, the basis of Drogon's purr with Daenerys. I have sounds I might choose simply by certain personality traits that I might want to push forward.

After Tiger Zinda Hai Success

Mumbai: After two successful outings with Salman Khan in Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai, director Ali Abbas Zafar is looking forward to their third collaboration in Bharat.

Zafar said the offer to direct the movie, which is a remake of the 2014 South Korean film Ode To My Father, came to him from Salman himself.

"That film came to me from Salman himself. He gave me the film and said he really likes it and asked me to watch it. I saw it and really liked it.

"(But) You can't make the film exactly how it is in the original. The socio-political scenario affects your story and the character. But I liked the basic crux of the film. Salman said after 'Tiger...', you do this," Zafar said.

Ode to My Father was directed by Yoon Je-kyoon and revolves around a young boy's promise made during the chaos of the Korean War.

Spent Time Making Excuses for Hollywood's Absurdity: Jake Gyllenhaal

I have spent a lot of time in my career making excuses for the absurdity of our world - Hollywood - and all of its confusion, apparent sickness over the past few months that we've discovered, the complications, the vanity," Gyllenhaal said on The Hollywood Reporter's 'Awards Chatter' podcast.

Citing his film, Brokeback Mountain as an example, the actor said despite witnessing the dark side of showbiz, he continues to have faith in the "power of movies".

"You know, you think about 'Brokeback' - I've had people come up to me over the years and say how that movie changed their life or how it made them realise something...

"But what I will never accept is anyone telling me that movies aren't an extraordinarily powerful tool for communication and ultimately, in a small way, for change. And sometimes in a big way," he said.

Aiyaary actress Rakul Preet Singh feels she speaks better Telugu than Punjabi

"The one thing I'd really like to do in 2018 is to speak my own lines on Telugu. Do you know I'm so fluent in Telugu now, I speak the language better than I speak Punjabi. So far I've only dubbed my own lines for one Telugu film," Rakul said.
But she doesn't want to talk about Spyder, which was shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.
"I don't want to speak about Spyder. Not because I am embarrassed about its under-performance. But it's just not an experience I enjoyed. I did it for the pleasure of working with AR Murugadoss Sir, and I'd do it again any time. But Sorry I really don't want to say anything more about this," she said.
Is Rakul disappointed by the male-dominated scripts in south Indian languages?
"Not the least. They aren't all about the men. In fact, my other 2017 release Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Telugu film) featured me in a pivotal role," she said.
Telugu cinema remains Rakul's first love. "It's where I've discovered my love for the camera. Trust me, I enjoy being in front of the camera more than anything else in the world. I can spend as much as 12 hours on the sets, even more. It's the only passion that I have," she said.
Rakul debuted in Bollywood with the 2014 film Yaariyan; she is all set to make her Bollywood comeback with Neeraj Pandey's upcoming thriller Aiyaary that stars Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra in lead roles. She will be seen romantically paired opposite Malhotra in the film. Aiyaary releases on 26 January along with Akshay Kumar's Padman.

After Saaho, Telugu superstar Prabhas to be seen in a Bollywood romantic film

India Today's report suggest that the actor spoke to The Times of India and said, "I watch a lot of Hindi films. I live in Hyderabad, where 60 per cent of the people speak Hindi. I am getting good offers from Bollywood. I had okay-ed a script three years ago. It is a love story that I will do post Saaho."
Prabhas, further speaking about his love for Bollywood, also spoke about the cordial relationship he shares with Karan Johar. "I made a good association with Karan Johar. If I want anything, I think I can ask him. He has helped us a lot. In fact, I met some actors (from Bollywood) in Karan's house. They were all very chilled out."
